Seal in Distress at the Port Renfrew Hotel

This seal was lying on the beach, having had a fishing line wrapped around his throat which one of the restaurant patrons cut away so hopefully he'll survive. As the tide came in around him, he floated away so we couldn't tell if he was moving on his own ok or not. This shot was taken from the deck of the restaurant right above him

You be glad to know there was a happy ending to this poor seal in distress,.... as I watched him struggle and gasping for air on rocks further away from restaurant,...he finally got a charge of energy, swam across the top of some water covered rocks and dove down deep I guess to get food,...last seen down by the fishing boats at end of peer. He is going to be okay! Hooray!
